18.10 Keyboard and touchpad not responding after sleep

I have a VAIO VJF153F11X with 18.10 installed. After returning from suspend, neither built-in keyboard nor the touchpad respond, I have to login via on-screen keyboard and then reboot for them to work - USB mouse works just fine. Recently upgraded from 18.04 where I was having the same issues.

So far I've tried the methods found here, here, here and here but none of them solved my problem.

I am a beginner Linux user, what else can I try?
