no HDMI sound on Xfce Ubuntu Studio 18

I have installed Ubuntu Studio 18 (Xfce) on laptop with display port. Sound output shows only internal audio with TV connected via DP-HDMI. On live cd Cinnamon Mint 18 same hardware configuration shows HDMI sound output in addition to standard.
Who uses Studio, maybe you know simple solution already? I tried to read threads on similar problems, they are lengthy... Still I'm ready to add system specifics here to try.
P.S. I would not mind using Mint here, but particular video hangs often with CPU close to 100% on Mint, whereas on Studio 18 it takes less than 20% CPU to watch. So much difference due to them display managers?
