Ubuntu 18.04.1 Boot hang after working perfect

I did a clean install of ubuntu 18.04.1 after that updated to last version.
Installed some software and all was running perfectly.
after 5 day's I wanted to sign in (system was never out) but could not sign in anymore. I restarted the system but it hangs on the purple ubuntu screen.
This is the second time its happening. first time I was thinking I made a misstake and reinstalled ubuntu but now I think it must be a bug somewhere.
Hope you can help me fix this.

Does it hang every time or just sometimes?

It completely hangs, and need to completely reinstall the system. Nothing works to make it boot to login anymore. And I did try lots off options I found on the internet incl. grub options.
