Unable to remove drivers

I am trying to remove my nvidia drivers and reinstall. But when I try and remove them I get errors. I have tried --fix-broken, purge, remove, everything. but they all have basically the same error. Here is what I get when I do a simple autoremove:

michael@Michael-ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get autoremove
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libnvidia-decode-410 : Depends: libnvidia-compute-410 (= 410.78-0ubuntu1~gpu18.04.1) but it is not installed
libnvidia-gl-410 : Depends: libnvidia-compute-410 but it is not installed
nvidia-compute-utils-410 : Depends: libnvidia-compute-410 but it is not installed
nvidia-driver-410 : Depends: libnvidia-compute-410 (= 410.78-0ubuntu1~gpu18.04.1) but it is not installed
Recommends: nvidia-prime (>= 0.8)
nvidia-utils-410 : Depends: libnvidia-compute-410 but it is not installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

I simply don't understand unmet dependencies cause the system to not remove things. (What do I care if there are unmet dependencies? Just delete it!)

Any ideas?
