even after i restore /etc/profile with /usr/share/base-files/profile, anybody knows why?

  • Notice that /etc/profile itself references other script files that may contain an error. You ought to check these as well. However, does the error message not specify a line number and file name?

  • actually, there are not specific line number about the files, but these concrete files' name are: /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/tools, ~/dist-packages/po; And it turns out to show up again and again for about ten cycles.

  • Hmm, strange. I have python3 installed, but I have no tools or po file installed in that directory. The permissions on that directory should be 755 and it should be owned by root.
