I just don't know how to get an unknown amount of distinct points from a random number from line segments like 348 or 4400.

  • do you know the principle of finite induction? Or axiom of choice?

  • How many distinct points can you get from two segments? Is it $1$ intersection or $5$ because you count the end points? If you have $n$ segments and add one more, how many points can you make?
