CPU affinity doesn't work in Ubuntu (VMware) on Windows machine

My main OS is Windows10, and the CPU is i7-7700k. I have built an Ubuntu 18.04 OS through VMware, and allocate 1 core and 1 thread to it.
However, while I am running tasks in Ubuntu, I checked the Windows Resource Monitor (Task Manager -> Performance -> Open Resource Monitor).
It seems the Ubuntu tasks are not restricted to 1 thread as it supposes to be. It is running on all 8 threads (p.s. I have closed all other applications).
Can anyone tell me where I did incorrectly, please?
Thanks.
