Problems opening ubuntu atfer updating to 18.04

I updated Ubuntu to 18.04 because i had Ubuntu 16.04 and on my Chromebook terminal and it would boot just fine. Now when i type this command sudo startunity it would try to start up but gives a black screen and i can move my mouse but then it goes back to chrome OS please help.
