Can play RTSP stream with VLC but not gstreamer
Context:
-On a VM running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS (with beaver GUI)
-Only basic gstreamer is installed (no ugly plugins)
-Closed its firewall:
$ sudo ufw disable
-Closed firewall of my main computer running the vm also (Windows 10)(plz don't hate me)
-Installed vlc via snap:
$ sudo snap install vlc
-The RTSP stream link I'm using looks like:
rtsp://user:password123@192.168.10.116:554/videoMain
Question:
I can open my RTSP stream and view it using the "Open Network Stream" dialog of VLC:
When I try to open the same RTSP stream with gstreamer
$ gst-launch-1.0 rtsp://user:password123@192.168.10.116:554/videoMain
I get errors...
Could not write to resource
Why can't I open my stream with gstreamer?
Note: Opening the RTSP stream with VLC takes at least 5-10 seconds... I don't know if this info is helpful, but there you have it.
vlc gstreamer rtsp
