screen resolution adjusting problem
In ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS MATE I only have three options for adjusting my screen resolution: 1024x768 (4: 3), 800x600 (4: 3) and 848x480 (16: 9)! How can I set my screen resolution to: 1280x800 or more?

What resolutions does your screen handle? Is it a monitor, what connection type/model number/brand?

Is it virtual machine or real hardware?
