Snowy white screen after Ubuntu 18.04 installation [closed]

I installed Ubuntu 18.04 yesterday. Before this, I had dual boot with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04.

I wiped out both previous OS's and did a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04. When I was in the middle of installing Anaconda on my laptop, I went to bed and returned in the morning (see attached images). My laptop didn't respond. I tried powering it off and on and the same screen appeared. You can faintly see the login screen on the background. Keyboard is responsive, mouse doesn't have any effect. I have tried rebooting with live USB but no response either.

  • Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! Can you boot any live medium? Can you access BIOS? If not, I bet on faulty hardware, I am sorry…

@BLaqBobby Without an image to see what exactly you're seeing, it's impossible to answer this - you may wish to upload your image to imgur.com or similar directly, and then provide a link to the image in comments here so we can add it to your post.

@BlaqBobby The screenshot looks like the login screen, right? Do the BIOS screen(s) and Ubuntu bootsplash look normally? If not, it’s definitely a hardware problem.

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because this is highly likely to be a hardware problem. If not it's certainly unclear.
