Accidentally removed OpenSSH host key using `apt purge` [closed]
I accidentally removed my server's host key using apt purge openssh-client. I was trying to regenerate /etc/ssh/sshd_config, but didn't realize a purge would remove all keys...
Do you have any advice for recovering it? Unfortunately, I don't have any backups.

There only 'recovery' from a Purge is to restore from backup. Sorry, but it's gone.

@muru Because I don't want my server's host key to randomly change?

So what? You know it's changing, you have control of when it's going to change, you'll know what the key is when it changes. I don't see a problem.
