Slower performance when mounting NTFS bad sector partition

So my HDD has some bad sector recently and i replace to SSD, rather than leave it unused, i used my old HDD as secondary disk to use it as storage partition, but every time i mount and use it to play music from, my system get slower.
So my friend advice me to disable journaling on the disk, bu since it is formatted using NTFS, i think it is not a problem. Or is it?
I don't have any idea.
Any advice about what i should do?
