“'dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a'”?

I use Ubuntu for a week now, so I don't know what I'm doing.
Needed to enable exfat so I can mount my SD card.
sudo apt install exfat-fuse exfat-utils
Apparently that should've done it.
But then I got this:
dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem
After reading that this command is harmless and because I haven't found any advice, I ran it and it set up quite a lot of stuff (i386 and wine, which I tried to install the other day). The mounting Problem is still there.
second update: mounting problem solved (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNwqH9TiqIA) The dpkg thing seems still weird to me and I'd be happy if someone could explain...
UPDATE: I also tried this:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:relan/exfat
[sudo] password for teddy:
tag:launchpad.net:2008:redacted
More info: https://launchpad.net/~relan/+archive/ubuntu/exfat
Press [ENTER] to continue or Ctrl-c to cancel adding it.
'Error reading https://keyserver.ubuntu.com/pks/lookup?op=get&options=mr&exact=on&search=0xtag:launchpad.net:2008:redacted: Not Found'
PS: Thanks for editing my post
