Installing SWFTools for FlowPapers

0

I'm trying to get swftools on ubuntu 18.04 running.
It is necessary to use the whole functionality of Flowpapers (the tab on the top called "Publish with ASP.NET/PHP").

When running the setup-script it promts me to install swftools or mupdf-tools from apt.

Setup-script Flowpapers

But the setup cannot locate the installation of swtools.
The same behavior occurs for "mupdf".

The second attempt was to install the tool spearately.
Doing so using the provided Link of the developer Google-code-archive
I get a tar-archive to unpack.

I did that in /opt/swtools and followed the instructins here: Installing swtools

Unfortunately wehen triyng to run make, the command finishes with error 1 and 2.

 make[1]: Entering directory '/opt/swtools/swftools-0.9.2/m4'
rm: cannot remove 'test.c': Permission denied
Makefile:15: recipe for target 'clear' failed
make[1]: *** [clear] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory '/opt/swtools/swftools-0.9.2/m4'
Makefile:7: recipe for target 'all' failed
make: *** [all] Error 2

I'm dind't try anything with compiling in linux before so I'm not sure if I missed something obvious (no makefile for this language on my system) or if there are just permission-errors (maybe the php-setup-script could find the installed swtools from apt if it has the right permission).

Can someone give me a hint?

Thanks a lot,

Danaq.

  • Just saw that I missed to used sudo for the make command. Now the error message changed a bit: Makefile:22: recipe for target 'gif2swf.o' failed make[1]: *** [gif2swf.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory '/opt/swtools/swftools-0.9.2/src' Makefile:7: recipe for target 'all' failed make: *** [all] Error 2 I Also run the config.status-script within the dir. It says that WARNING: 'Makefile.common.in' seems to ignore the --datarootdir setting
